a new take on guest books

For my sister’s wedding last summer she asked me to help her find a pretty guestbook. I decided to do a new take on an old event staple.

I cut out a heap of palm-sized hearts from different styles of paper and looped a piece of lacy string through each one. To get the perfect heart-shape on each one, I used a cookie-cutter to trace each one.

For her wedding reception we placed the hearts in a nice box, surrounded by candles and a couple willow branches. Guests were invited to write their well-wishes on the hearts and hang them on the branches.
After the wedding, these hearts can be made into a baby mobile with the warm words from your friends and family hanging over your little one.
