This was a super simple centrepiece I created for Thanksgiving this year but could be easily tailored for the winter holiday season. The idea of the fruit and vegetables dipped in paint came from Chatelaine Magazine . I recomend doing your first coat of paint 24-48 hours in advance.
Paint the entire fruit or veggie completely in white (may require up to three coats). Once they’re completely dry, pour gold paint into a bowl and submerge each object in so that the base is coated. I found it easiest to rest them upside down in a muffin tin while waiting for them to dry.
I love contrasting the chic white and gold paint with a rustic looking burlap table runner. When dinner time came around I brought out our handmade birch candleholders – and voila, an instantly warm atmosphere.
